Location: Old Gick on Route 50 The walks should last about an hour and cover a mile of gently rolling terrain. The next few weeks will be ideal for seeing many of the newly emerged butterflies as they search for nectar and mates in the open pine/oak savannah that is their habitat in the Saratoga Sandplains. The walks will not take place if there is rain. Please dress appropriately for weather and insects. Celebrate National Trails Day at the Preserve & Park! Walk the trails; attend a program on local raptors, reptiles and amphibians given by Beth Bidwell; go on a Karner blue butterfly walk; dip for pond animals in Delegan Pond; climb the Cornell Hill Fire Tower; make some nature crafts; and enjoy a BBQ! Events take place from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Camp Saratoga on Scout Road. Sponsors include the Healthy Living Market and Cafe and Ballston Spa National Bank. at 10:00 am

Lessons include hands-on activities and information about wildlife found in the Saratoga Sandplains. This program is designed for students learning K-4 grade material. There is a fee of $3 per student and please come dressed appropriately for the weather. Plan to spend some or all of the program outdoors. at 10:30 am

During the summer months the Saratoga Stryders host the "Camp Saratoga Fun Run Series." This is a five race series held at the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park's Camp Saratoga. The race course is 5K in length on wooded trails at the beautiful 310 acre parcel. The race series is open to all ages and abilities, run one race or all five. Registration is $5 per race at the door starting at 5:30PM. Races begin at 6:15PM sharp rain or shine. A raffle is held at the end of each race with many "wonderful" but cheap prizes awarded. At the last race of the series the Ironman and Ironwoman award is given to the male and female runners with the lowest cumulative time for all five races. This is a fun but challenging trail course. Expect to add 10%-20% to your best 5K road course time. There are no water stops on the course. Water is available at the finish.
