Join us at the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park for a great nature craft that will be cherished for years. We will use twigs, pine cones and other materials found in nature to create our picture frames. This will be a great present to give to grandma, dad or your valentine for Valentine’s Day. This program is for children 5 and up. To WWPP Office: From the South: Take the I87 North to Exit 15. Go north on Route 50 for about four miles. Make a left onto Scout Road. Go straight for 0.3 miles. Just before the railroad bridge make a right into the parking lot with a barn. Park there and enter into the wooden ranch house on the right. From the North: Take the I87 South to Exit 16. Take a left onto Ballard Road, cross the Northway and make the first right on Edie Road. Continue for 0.6 miles and make a turn at your first left onto Scout Road. Go straight and just after the railroad bridge make a left into the parking lot with a barn. Park there and enter into the wooden ranch house on the right. at 1:00 pm

Predator and Prey Time: 10:30 am-12 pm Place: WWPP Office (80 Scout Road) Fee TBD. Looking to add some outdoor winter activities to your homeschool curriculum? Bring your kids to Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park to discover the outdoors and learn about the many predators and prey that inhabit WWPP. We will be looking at some animal skulls and learning about food chains. The indoor part of this program will be about 30 minutes long and the outdoor part will be about 40 minutes long. Please dress appropriately for weather and insects. Snowshoes will be available for rental: $5 for nonmembers. If there is no snow, the program will take place without snowshoes. Bring your child out to Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park for an afternoon of outdoor exploration. Children will learn to use their senses to explore the outdoors during winter by working to complete a nature scavenger hunt. This program is designed for children 5 and older. Snowshoes will be available for rental 30 minutes before the program: $5 for nonmembers. If there is no snow, the program will take place without snowshoes. To Camp Saratoga North and South Trails: From the South: Take the I87 North to Exit 15. Go north on Route 50 for about four miles. Make a left onto Scout Road. Go straight under the railroad bridge until the crosswalk and make a right into Parking Lot #1. For both trails we will meet in the parking lot. From the North: Take the I87 South to Exit 16. Take a left onto Ballard Road, cross the Northway and make the first right on Edie Road. Continue for 0.6 miles and make a turn at your first left onto Scout Road. Drive down Scout Road until you reach Parking Lot #1 on the left side of the street at 1:00 pm

Time: 11am-12pm Place: Congress Park , Saratoga Springs Preregistration required in the Children’s Room or by calling 518-584-7860, option 3 beginning January 7th. Bring your child outside for an afternoon of outdoor exploration! Participants will meet in the Crawshaw Story Room to receive animal footprint identification cards and loaner snowshoes, courtesy of Wilton Wildlife. We will then walk as a group to Congress Park, put on our snowshoes and look for animal tracks. This program is limited to 20 families, or when the snowshoes run out, so register early!! Please bring your own snowshoes if you have them. Children must be accompanied by a parent or a caregiver. at 11:00 am

Big Screen Showing: March of the Penguins Did you know that Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park once looked like the arctic? Come learn about the different adaptations that these wonderfully unique birds have acquired due to their harsh environmental settings. Popcorn and hot chocolate will be served. at 2:00 pm

NOTE DATE CHANGE! The popular and highly anticipated Moonlight Ski and Snowshoe will take place on March 3rd, 2012! Join us at Camp Saratoga for a nighttime ski or snowshoe under a full moon and 2.5 miles of candlelit trails. We will be starting earlier this year at 6:00 to give families with younger children a chance to come out and enjoy the magic of the Preserve & Park on a moonlit night.
