Hunting

Hunting, trapping, and fishing are permitted on the State- and County-owned lands in accordance with New York State rules and regulations.  On the Protected Lands Map, these lands are shown in orange and yellow, respectively, and include the Old Gick Farm and a large part of the Camp Saratoga property.

Hunting and trapping are prohibited on the Town of Wilton and The Nature Conservancy lands within the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park Study Area.  On the Protected Lands Map, these lands are shown in dark green and light green, respectively.

Fishing is permitted at Delegan Pond in accordance with the Town of Wilton’s regulations.  Within the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park Study Area, fishing is not permitted on lands owned by The Nature Conservancy.

Please note that weapons and firearms are NOT permitted on Town of Wilton property.

Bright red and orange clothing is advised, particularly during deer season.  Wearing a similarly colored hat is also recommended.  Read more information on hunting.
