Snowshoe and Cross Country Ski Rentals

Starting in January, Wilton Wildlife rents snowshoes, cross country skis and microspikes from the Welcome Cabin.

The Welcome Cabin is located at 90 Scout Road with parking at Parking Lot #1 on Scout Road. The Welcome Cabin is open in the winter Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. It is also open on MLK Day and for the full February Vacation Week.

Rentals are available on a first come/first served basis for use at Wilton Wildlife. Last rentals are at 3:00 pm to insure that they are returned by 3:30 pm.

The rental fee for non-members is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids/students. 

For programs that require snowshoes, including children’s or general public environmental education programs, rental fees are covered this year by a grant from the Adirondack Trust Community Foundation so that anyone that wants to participate in our programs can at no cost! Thank you ADK Trust Community Foundation!!

Our rental cross country skis and boots were generously donated by the Alpine Sport Shop. Skis and repairs to our snowshoes were funded in 2022 by the Ballston Spa National Bank. Additional snowshoes and microspikes were purchased in 2023 with funds from a member item from Carrie Woerner’s office.
